Property Spotlight: Sandersonia, Toongabbie
Introducing the newest addition to the Good Housing Portfolio: Sandersonia in Toongabbie!
Nestled in the vibrant and inclusive Toongabbie community, just 30km west of Sydney's bustling Central Business District, Sandersonia is Good Housing's first Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) project in the Western Suburbs.
Conveniently situated amid an array of local services and essential amenities, Sandersonia comprises six 1-bedroom, independent villas, holistically designed to meet the physical, intellectual and social needs of Robust participants.
Ready to welcome tenants in December 2023 (yes, you read that correctly!), read on to learn more about what makes Sandersonia a good home: from furnishing to finishes and everything in between.
As with all homes in the Good Housing stable, Sandersonia prioritises tenant comfort, independence, safety and accessibility. Each private villa boasts a bright and spacious bedroom (complete with ensuite bathroom), as well as an open plan living area, functional kitchen, and designated outdoor space.
Modern, stylish and built for independence, these villas have been thoughtfully designed and curated to meet the needs of Robust participants.
Key features include resilient construction and furniture, soft impact, vinyl flooring, safety glass and reinforced walls, impact acoustics attenuation and curated colour palette and interiors designed to improve the sensory environment.
What's more, each dwelling boasts an ample, open floor plan with wide doorways and pathways, customisable kitchens and cabinetry, single-level, ramp access and the provision for hand railings and ceiling hoists to be custom modified per each tenants' practical requirements and SDA funding.
Sandersonia also includes a designated common area and OOA rooms for caregivers, as well as a common outdoor space for tenant interaction.
Completed last month, Sandersonia is now ready to welcome new tenants. Our tenant empowerment team are currently processing final expressions of interest and invite prospective tenants and support coordinators to submit their online enquiries today.
Given the limited number of vacancies available, all participants will undergo eligibility assessments and will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
To apply for Sandersonia, participants will need to be approved (or likely to be approved) for SDA funding (Robust) in their NDIS plan.
Evidence of SDA approval should include a written letter from the NDIA stating: tenant eligibility for SDA funding, the total amount of funding you are eligible for, designated design category and the SDA location you or your tenant is approved for.
