Celebrating the Official Opening of Jasmine and Jacaranda in Jannali!
At Good Housing, we believe that a home is more than just a place to live, it’s a foundation for dignity, independence, and community. This belief was at the heart of our recent celebration, marking the official opening of Jasmine and Jacaranda, two purpose-built Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) homes in Jannali.
The event was a proud moment, highlighting our mission to radically transform the SDA market. Designed specifically for Robust participants and those requiring High Physical Support (HPS) provisions, these homes provide more than accessibility; they enhance lives. Located in the beautiful Sutherland Shire, Jasmine and Jacaranda are tailored to meet the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of their residents.
Jasmine features two 2-bedroom HPS villas, equipped with cutting-edge assistive technology and modifications to ensure comfort and autonomy for residents with complex physical needs. Meanwhile, Jacaranda offers five 1-bedroom Robust villas, designed with acoustic attenuation and sound panelling to create a peaceful, secure environment for tenants with behavioural support needs.
The opening event was an inspiring celebration of community, attended by local dignitaries, stakeholders, and supporters. Among our esteemed guests were the Hon. Eleni Petinos, MP for Miranda, Jenny Ware, Federal Member for Hughes, and Sutherland Shire Mayor Jack Boyd, alongside Deputy Mayor Laura Cowell and Jeff McCarthy, Chairman of Sylvanvale. Their presence reinforced the significance of this project and the critical role inclusive housing plays in fostering thriving communities.
The highlight of the day was the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, led by Jasmine’s first tenant, Alissa, who was joined by her family in celebrating this significant milestone. Alissa’s participation in the ribbon-cutting was a powerful symbol of new beginnings and hope. Also in attendance were the family members of Jacaranda’s first tenants, Nathan and Jay, whose excitement brought a deeply personal and heartfelt dimension to the event.
Sylvanvale, our trusted SIL partner for this project, has been instrumental in bringing Jasmine and Jacaranda to life. With a proud history dating back to 1947, Sylvanvale provides vital support services to over 750 individuals with disabilities. Together, we share a commitment to creating homes that enable independence and promote meaningful community participation.
Jasmine and Jacaranda are more than just residences: they’re vibrant communities where tenants can thrive. Situated close to essential amenities and support services, these homes empower residents to engage with their surroundings while enjoying the safety and comfort of a space designed just for them.
The opening of Jasmine and Jacaranda is a testament to what can be achieved when innovation, dedication, and community come together. As we continue to grow, our vision remains clear: to create homes where all individuals, regardless of ability, can live with dignity, independence, and a true sense of belonging.
