Events: Introducing Tea Tree in Tahmoor

Last month marked a significant milestone for Good Housing as we celebrated the official opening of our inaugural home in the Tahmoor region.

Joined by our valued partners at Afea and esteemed guests from various sectors including industry collaborators, NDIS participants, and members of our own teams, the event was a heartfelt occasion.

Among the attendees were Lily Nehme, Head of Growth & Relationships at Good Housing, and Esha Oberoi, Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Afea, both of whom have been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition.

We were also honoured to have Mayor of Wollondilly Matt Gould with us, who highlighted the critical need for disability housing in our community. Mayor Gould emphasised, "Hopefully Tea Tree is the first of many such projects in the Shire. Every individual, whatever their background or ability, needs a home where they can feel comfortable and have the opportunity to thrive."

The ceremonial ribbon cutting, led by Mayor Gould alongside NDIS participants Luke Maroun and Andre Nasser, symbolised the beginning of a new chapter for those seeking SDA living in Tahmoor.

Tea Tree features five 1-bedroom Robust villas, designed to provide a comfortable and accessible environment for our tenants. Each villa is meticulously crafted to prioritise comfort, independence, and peace of mind.

Designed under the SDA Robust category, Tea Tree offers a customisable living space that caters to the unique needs of every tenant. This includes the option for additional assistive technology modifications, which are funded according to each tenant's specific requirements.

Our community at Tea Tree is designed to accommodate a total of five tenants, with dedicated on-site rooms available for On-Site Support services. This ensures that comprehensive support is readily accessible whenever needed, fostering a safe and supportive living environment for all residents.

What's more, all residents at Tea Tree will have access to our nominated On-Site Support Provider, Afea, who will be on hand to ensure the safety and comfort of all tenants.

We can't wait for our extraordinary tenants to start their new life chapters in their very own purpose-built dwellings! View the full event recap below.
